Every day that I start at 12:55

Hey my owls! (Hreeeeiiiiiiibooooooou)

Today, I'm (as always) in the Student Café on EF Campus. Every day that I start at 12:55, I come here, doing things on my computer (AA's computer, sorry). But funny thing, I never buy at the Student Café. I decided today that as I always come here, I will buy something for a change. A "danoise au citron" and a Vitamin Water (miam). Today, I'm doing my schedules for CEGEP.

Yesterday

I watched Nacho Libre with Jack Black. Very funny and it was really good. (Hey, as Androu's doing food critic all the time, am I doing film critic?)

Nothing to report... I'm going to try to go to San Diego Zoo tomorrow.

Love,
xoxo

Just to talk

I just want to tell you what's going on in my head for the moment:

1. I think a lot about Norway and the crazy nazi guy. In US, there isn't a lot of news and I heard it at school. This is terrible and I hope this guy rot in hell.
2. One of my favorite singer is dead on july 23. She had something that no one had and she introduced jazz to our generation. Although she had a hard public life, her songs will stay forever. RIP Amy Winehouse
3. American food is sometimes really tempting. Gosh.
4. Today, we talk about famous buildings in our own country. I told the class that there was the CN Tower, but I hate Toronto, so I said that the most famous in Quebec must be the Château Frontenac. Then, we talked about "classics", and I was the only one with the right definition of a "classic" (thank you to my enriched english class). We talked about classic music, theater, books, movies, and tv shows. I was good at this.
Classic music: Beatles, Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson
Classic books: Jules Verne's books, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (THANK YOU REGINA)
Classic theater: William Shakespeare's plays.
Classic movies: Gone with the Wind, E.T., etc
Classic Tv Shows (I was good at this one, all my class was giving recent shows): Three's Compagny, The Twilight Zone, FRIENDS.
5. Watched Battle: Los Angeles, it was good, but very dark.
6. My hair's bugging me.
7. Tomorrow I'm riding the bike home.
8. I have to go to San Diego Zoo, but when?
9. I'm thinking about buying a new dress...
10. I should go downtown SD... once.
11. Mom, Dad, can you send me video of me doing gym to show my family?
12. I'm tired.
13. Zzzzzz...
14. Go see my older posts... I had a couple of photos!

Goodnight my beeeezzzzzzzzzzz...

Love,
xoxo

Things I forgot and update on SF trip

I forgot to tell you some things in my last post and I am going to do quick update on the rest of my San Francisco trip.

Things that I forgot

After the Café Bastille, I wanted to go to the SFMoMA, but it was closed. Then I wanted to go to the Contemporary Jewish Museum, but it was closed too... so that's why I decided to go back to my room.

Update

The ride back home was fine. We stopped at Santa Barbara for 45 mins but it wasn't enough. This city is SO beautiful! If you want to go to the beach and relax, go shopping and eat in small restaurants, go to Santa Barbara. I got home at 12h30 am. I was SO tired.

Monday

Today, at school, we had to describe a house (dream house, own house, host family house, whatever) and we get into groups. We try then to sale our house. After, we decided who has the best house. I described my house in Montreal... and I won in my group. :)
I talked about the flowers and the way the sun illuminates the living room in the evening. <3
Next step: we will be against the other team. The group that wins, win a homework pass.
Oh, and Joey and Danny are amazed because I can lick my elbow...

That's all for todaaaay!

How do I past time?

I started to play a game on my computer that I feel ashamed to play again. Long live Zelda and the Ocarina of Time! (Message to Gabe: I almost finished the game! Do you remember, there was this bug in the Temple of Water with the hookshot. I found a way! You don't care? Ok, I just thought you should know...)

Aurevoir my little stud. (Because YOU will be the teachèr and I will be the stud.)

Love,
xoxo

Foggy SF

Golden Gate Bridge (and my new blouse from Abercrombie)
Hi folks!

I'm in San Francisco, and I have a lot to tell you! I know that you have a lot of questions to tell me, so, I decided to arranged this post like a questionnaire.

0. The first thing to tell: I LOVE SF.
1. Why? The buildings' architecture is amazing! It's really beautiful! Also, the view is amazing.
2. Is it always sunny? NO, that's why it's COLD in here! Always wearing my jeans.
3. Who are the San Franciscan? A lot of them are homeless. I never seen so much homeless people in my life! They are everywhere!
4. How was the ride? The ride was ok. 11 hours is a loooooooooooooooong time, but thanks to the rides to Pompano Beach, I was patient.
5. Did you met someone? I met 3 grils: two french girls (19, 20) and a russian girl (24). They are very kind. I hang out with them and we get along very well even though the french girls don't know what a "sacre" means.
6. Do you have a guide? Yes, his name is Paul (29). Very energetic.
7. How was your first day? Friday, we arrived at 8 PM in SF. It was foggy and COLD. We had free time, so we tried to find a good place to eat. We finally end up in a pub called Murphy's. Seriously, I could've order any type of alcohol and they wouldn't even care. But I didn't, because I hate alcohol. Uuuugh!

Crookedest Street

8. How was your second day? First of all, it was (again) very cold outside. Ate a croissant for breakfest. We went to see the Crookedest Street in America. It was really impressive, and beautiful with the flowers and the trees. After, we went to see the famous Golden Gate Bridge. My knee started to be painful after walking ½ of the bridge. After, we went to see the Twin Peaks, to then, after, make a stop at Fisherman's Wharf. Very crowded and a lot of shops. I ate a fish & chips (miam). We went into a lot of shops, and I bought something for my I LOVE t-shirt collection. The bus was supposed to pick us up at 4 PM to get back to the hotel. After 10 minutes past 4. I said goodbye to my friends and walk a little bit through the chinatown to make my way to Powell St, the shopping area. I bought a pair of black flats (check!) at my favorite store: Urban Outfitters. There was also t-shirts with Michael Jackson on it and I thought about my father (love you). After, I went to Forever 21, Aldo, Abercrombie and American Eagle. After all this walk, I did a little research on internet before coming to SF and I found a street with a lot of restaurant. I found a french restaurant called Café Bastille (to be connect in some way to Androu) and I enjoyed a hachis parmentier and for dessert, MACARON DU SUD!! <3 Miam miam miaaaaaam! It was 5 delicious macarons (and not just 1 big macarons "hamburger"). After my date with myself, I went back to the hotel because I was tired. It was 8 PM when I went back to my room. I took a shower, opened my laptop and watched The Odd Couple. After 10 PM, I started to not feel so good. I was feeling sick. It was the first time since I'm in California that I wanted someone from Montreal to be with me: my mom. I thought I was going to throw up. It was awful. I finally decided to go to sleep.
Transamerica Building (saw it by accident!)
9. What about today? I started to pack my things, because we leave at 1 PM.
10. How's the hotel? A little hotel... just beside a... certain... kind of... cinema... for adult. Youpi.
11. How's the other people with your group? A lot of unpleasant italian.

In brief, I enjoyed my trip and before going back to SD, we make a stop in Santa Barbara (oh yes).

I love you very very very much!

Love,
xoxo

The End of my Break

Hey guys! Sorry to have make you wait for another post! I took a little break, because a lot of things happened and I didn't feel like writing.

Sunday

Sunday, we went to the beach, not any kind of beach, a beach where there's rock, crabs, not a lot of sand, and... sea lion (though we didn't see one...). It was really beautiful.
Also, I changed level at school. I'm an Advanced 1 now!

Monday

I start week 3. Nothing important to report... I think... if something came up, I will tell you!

Tuesday

This day was CRAZY! Because monday, we had last week schedule and tuesday, we began the new schedule. Let me explain...

Every sunday, we have to check our schedule online to see if it changed. I have the same schedule, but not the same room number and not the same teacher. Tuesday, I went to my class, and the teacher didn't have my name on their list. I went to another classroom, and they didn't have my name either. So, I went back to the first classroom and stayed there. When I came back from school, I went to see my schedule and SURPRISE! I was in the wrong class, AND they changed my schedule on monday! I only went to see it sunday!
A good thing with my new schedule is that my new teacher is my grammar teacher. Yes!

Evening: we went to this place called Brigantine's. It was GOOD! I ate a taco with chicken buffalo. Miam miam miam! Horray for the american food! After, Luisa and I bought frozen yogurt for the family at a place called "In the Mix". You choose the frozen yugort flavor, then you can put candies, cereal, syrup, etc etc etc on you yogurt, and there you go! It was SOOOOOOO good!

Wednesday

Nothing to report. I bought my classic sandwich Steak & Cheese, footlong italian bread, swiss cheese, banana peppers, olives, lettuce, onions, Sudwest sauce at Subway (eat fresh). I bought a frozen yogurt for Danny because he wasn't there with us yesterday, and when I came home, I said: "I got something for you!". He got scared because he thought I brought a spider home (he's afraid of spider). Then, we said (Joey and I) that it wasn't a spider, it was frozen yogurt he said: "I don't like frozen yogurt". A little later, he wasn't home, so I ate it. When he came back, he said: "Mmmh, I feel like eating frozen yogurt!" Then, I told him that I ate it. He was so mad! Haha.
I watched Charlie's Angels (didn't ou notice that Matt Leblanc plays in this movie?!) because I could remember a THING of this movie! In the evening, we watched Dumb and Dummer. :)

The Movie of the Week

Hot Rod, with Andy Samberg. Hilarious! (Mom, it's stupid, don't watch it)

Announcement

This weekend, I'm going to........................ SAN FRANCISCO!! 11 hours on the bus, alone. In my room, we'll be 2. I'm matched with someone alone. My new friend...!

I LOVE YOU!!!

Love,
xoxo

Guilty or not guilty?

Hiiiiii... (Ross' "Hi")

I've been to the mall today... My mom told me to buy clothes for CEGEP, because my CRA uniform, my gymnastics leotards and summer's clothes were pretty much what I used to wear the past 5 years.

So, yes, I went to the mall today. I'm not going to tell you how much I've spent... but you can call me Androu #2. I've bought:
1. Shirt from Abercrombie & Fitch (the cashier was HOT)
2. Grey belt from Forever 21 (the next items are from there)
3. Charlie Brown T-Shirt
4. Necklace
5. Black Jacket
6. Skinny Jeans (I just wanted to see if I could wear the jacket with jeans, I just took a random pair of jeans and it turned out that they looked great on me!)

So, sould I feel guilty or not? I hate spending my money... grr...

Tonight

LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT! with Justin Timberlake and musical guest Lady Gaga! :) It's a rerun but I wanted to see this episode when I was in NY with Regina. My friend Sara and I were so mad at the stupid hotel TB that didn't have NBC and then, the next morning, we were, again, REALLY mad, because it was the season final AND Justin and Gaga were there. This time, I'm watching it! Oh yes, I AM!

Love you!

It's beach season, beach season & Avada Kedavra

Hi people!

Beach Season

My class and I have been to the beach to do a Scavenger Hunt. It was so fun! I met Daniella (20 years old girl; in my class; from Mexico; who doesn't look like 20) and Ihisha (17 years old girl; also in my class; from Trukey; who speaks french). There is also a girl from Paris (17), but unfortunately, I can't remember her name. This girl is coming to Montreal from 4 years, and I'm probably going to show her our beautiful country. She's really excited about it.

This is MJ, my roommate

Luisa introduced me to some of her friends and I met someone really interesting: Joséphine from Paris. She's here for 3 other weeks. She loves photography, studies in cinema and... LOVE Montreal and people from Quebec. Especially our accent. She's really nice and she was glad that she can finally speak about cinema, photography, etc, with someone. Even though we both speak french, the conversation we had was entirely in english. I hope to see her again!

First Exam

I had my first exam yesterday. Today, we correct it: 72/80! :)
Mary Potter

Harry Potter

This evening, wondering what should I do, I decided to go see (alone) the last Harry Potter movie. No surprise: I cried. And what was fun about HP in 3D is that they give you 3D glasses shaped like the glasses of HP. Haha.

Downtown San Diego

Lydia and I went to pick up Luisa and her friends this evening at 11:30. We rode and talk about night-life, alcohol and partying etc etc etc. When we arrived downtown, we were looking for Luisa, but we were also looking at the drunk people. At one moment, Lydia saw a boy and a girl hugging and she said: "Get a room".
Lydia is a lot of fun! We laughed at the "party people".

See you soon!

Dodgeball

Hey chicos & chicas,

Yesterday, with Danny and Joey, I watch (again) 2 movies: The Mask and The Hot Chick. I've already seen both of them, but it was fun watching them again.

Jealousy

Danny and Joey didn't believe me that Jim Carrey is canadian. It took them a long time to finally realize, after the 200000 web pages on Jim, that the Almighty Dumb is, in fact, canadian. I don't know if they were joking about not knowing. I think they were just jealous about the fact that a canadian can be that successful. In their faces! Haha.

T.T. (for "The Title")

This evening, my family, Luisa and I watched (again and again AND again) the movie Dodgeball with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. If you wanna laugh, rent it. It's hilarious (Mom, don't watch it)! Good gags.

Snif

Lydia told me that if Vinnie was home, we could've watch the new Harry Potter before ANYONE ELSE tonight, before the premiere, because Vinnie works at the movie theater. Sh*t. F... WHY ME? Aaaah, that's not the end of the world. YES IT IS! No, it's not, OK?! YEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!! Who cares?! I CARE! Go see it tomorrow then! Oh, yes, great idea... never thought of that...

NO CLASS TOMORROW

15 of July = NO CLASS! Why: my class is going to the beach! Oh yes!
Now, tomorrow is very important, because:
1. I gotta make some friends.
2. I'm wearing my new bikini. Yes, my PINK ONE WHO FLASHES. Let see if Californian can handle my gymnast body.

Write to you tomorrow to tell you all about sand and sea!

Love,
xoxo

Padres VS Rockies

Helloooooooooo!

Yesterday, for diner, we went to In n' Out, a fast food restaurant. It was GOOD. I was famished. Joey and Danny were teasing Luisa, and when she said: "Why don't you tease MJ?", Danny said: "Because we have respect for her". I laugh. :)

Also, I decided that I'm going to the San Francisco trip with EF. Before, I didn't know if I wanted to go, because I have no friends. However, Luisa is going to introduce me one of her friend who's going too. All I know is that she's from Spain.

The Title

Yes yes yes, my family, Luisa and I are going to see the Padres of San Diego VS The Rockies of Colorado! :) I decided to go with them, because I want to feel again what it was like to go see the Expos (RIP).

Sorry, I have to go... my Michelina's is ready. (Ahhh... the good old days)

Love,

8 in the morning

Hey... you.

8 AM, I was with Lydia and Luisa in the car, heading to Alliant University (EF School). I didn't want to stay at school for 4 hours, so Lydia drop me off at a Starbucks Coffee, where WiFi is available. I'm glad I'm here with my Strawberry Smoothie and my Upper Intermediate English Book to study. Yes, in EF, we have to study. I have an exam this Thursday and I have to study the Infinitive + British english VS American english + vocabulary. What's funny, is that the test is multiple answers. Back to Regina! I hope it will be easy.

So... Yes, I studied for an hour. It's 9:36 and I'm done. Wouhouh.

Goodbye :)

Love,
xoxo

Shopping... and complication...

Hallo, mein strahlender Sonne (Hi my sunshines in german)!

So, many things happened in less than 24 hours:

Westfield North County

Luisa and I went to do a little bit of shopping at the mall. There's a lot of stores in this mall: H&M, American Eagle Outfitters, Abercrombie, Hollister, Forever 21, Aéropostale, etc etc etc. And if you know me well, you know that I don't buy a lot. I hate buying stuff. No, my name is not Andrée-Anne (I love you). But ladies and gentlemen, for the first time, with my OWN money, I bought... a pair of shorts and a vest. Yes yes yes, that's right: I spent money...!!!

The funny moment of yesterday

I had to go to the restroom SO badly. In this mall, what's strange is that the restroom are in the biggest stores. So, I went to the restroom in a J.C. Penney. When I was in front of the ladies' restroom, SURPRISE: it was out of order.Sooooooooooo... I looked to my left... I look to my right... I thought: "Well well well... there's nobody around, I'm safe..." and soooooooo, I used the men's room!

Message to Androu (or if you think it can concern you)

The Forever 21 is... HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE! I couldn't believe my EYES! I was flabbergasted. It was INCREDIBLE! There was too much stock! Androu, I would have fainted + it wasn't expensive. A pair of shorts + belt for 21$. Wow wow wow.

The complication of the day

Oh oh... I have a problem with my transportation... Now that Vinnie is gone, my family has a problem with my transport. Luisa and I have opposite schedule: if I have early classes, she has late classes. It's horrible. Now, each morning, even if my first class is at 12:55, I have to go to school at 8 am. It sucks. And if I have early classes, I have to wait until 5 pm for Anthony to pick Luisa and I at school.
Also, I can't take the bus. It would take 2 hours. So, I found a way to get back home when I have early classes: bicycle.
So, this morning, I went to school, and I took Lydia's bike to go back home. It took me 1 hour. Positive side: exercise and going down hill. Negative side: I have to go up a big hill. This was NOT funny at all. But this is the only negative side I found. Oh, no... there's another one: Lydia bike doesn't have speeds. So for the next  month, 3 times a week, I have to use the bike (I'm thinking about Denis and Grandpa Émilien at this very moment).
I went to Wallgreens to buy a notebook (76¢) and after, Subway for a Italien footlong Steak and Cheese Sandwich (miiiiiiiam).

So, this is what happened in less than 24 hours.

Beannacht mo chairde (Goodbye my friends in irish)!

Love,
xoxo

Saturday and morning's temptation.

Hello people!

The Fabulous day of Saturday

Yesterday, Luisa and I were alone in the house. The DeMaria family was away this day because Vinnie has a cinema camp 3 hours from San Diego. We chillaxed and we ate. I watched TV and she was on her computer. After awhile, we decided to go in the swimming pool. Problem: the dogs. They wanted to play and after a couple of minutes, they were SUPER annoying. We tried to know where the family keep them when they are this annoying. We finally found it, on the side of the house. We were able to relax once and for all. We talked a lot. We talked about EF, the family, Spanish, French, etc etc etc. This talk lasted 2 hours. After, we took a shower, and we make ourselves sandwiches, until Ms Camine skyped me. Luisa ended up doing my sandwich. She's the sweetest! We watched (500) Days of Summer and The Hangover. Then, our family came back from Vinnie's college of art.
Watched 15 minutes of Saturday Night Live, and tired of this relaxing day, we went to sleep.

The Morning's Temptation

This morning, I woke up around 9 AM, but I was on a feet around 10.
This morning, something was waiting for me in the kitchen: donuts. Oooooouf... I told myself that I gotta stay strong and eat my morning cereal... Right now, the devilish little pink box is looking at me.

Interesting Fact

1. The people on my street don't sleep on Saturdays and Sundays. Youpi. They're outside around 8.
2. I've never see a cloud in San Diego...

Talk to you soon mother, father, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, grandpas, grandmas, cousins, friends, and you, Bébé.

Love,

Beach

Hi mi amors!

Today, my family asked me to skip class to go to the beach. I told myself that I can only skip school 2 times: this time, and when we leave to go pick up Vinnie (the oldest) to his cinema camp on friday the 5th. We also go to Disneyland this week-end (!!!).

The Sun Never liked me...

We went to the beach: it was sunny and hot outside. I put my sunscreen, because we don't want to develop skin cancer! You have to believe me: I never put so many times sunscreen. After 1:30, it was sunscreen time.
But, of course, the sun tricked me and NOW, I have sunburns. I am MAD at him. Stupid sun. But what's weird out my sunburns, it's that they are... kind of... I don't know how to explain them! Let say that I will be shy to show my legs tomorrow...

So, my first sunburns of the summer! Very fun. They just can't live without me, can they?
So, beside of that, I watch TV today. A LOT of TV. I'm in heaven! I watched 3 episodes of Scrubs, Wipe Out, Two and ½ Man, Super Nanny, a little bit of Step Brothers, etc etc etc. Anthony talked to me about The Office and said it was really good. I know the show, but I never really attend to watch it. I guess I'm going to watch it after all!

Good night my moons from east!

Love,

First Day Of School

Hello my little sunshines from heaven!

School part

Today was my VERY first day of school.
I had 3 classes: Grammar III and double GeUpper Intermediate.
Grammar III: we are doing the "will" "is going to", and their contraction. So, now, try to say "Bob'll". Sounds like bubble. My partner and I laugh so hard at this.
GeUpper Intermediate: This class is so FUN! My teach, Donri Roberson, aka Mister D, is really cool! When he came to pronounce my name, he said: "Ok... so... um... Mary-Jowellhfejkfnlkdsf".
- Hum, MJ.
- What? Just MJ?
- Well, yes. MJ is simpler. You can't even pronounce it so...
- Oh, sorry mademoiselle from Quebec! Marie-Joëlle. I stayed in Quebec for 8 years. Je sais un peu de français. I used to play football there. Câlice, Tabarnack, esti."
He's so funny. When he asked me questions about myself, he was like: "If you had 1 000 000$, what would you do with it?" or "Do you have a boyfriend? Do you want one? Why?"

So, to resume, I think I'm going to like my 6 weeks here. :)
The staff at school is really nice and helpful.

Family part

We went to see Joey's (the youngest) baseball game. It reminded me Gabe's hockey games. It was fun to watch. Joey's really good! They won the game, and if they win the next 2 games, they're going to the championship! Danny (the one in the middle) said that Joey's team will never gonna make it to the championship. So, Lydia (mother) said that if Poway Baseball team win the next 2 matches, Danny has to kiss Joey's toes after the second game.
They're so funny. (:

Tomorrow, I only have 1 class of 1:30. Yessir.

Love,
xoxo

4th of july

From now on, I will write in English. Yes, I will. Yes yes yes yes yes I will!

4th of July.
My family and I had a BBQ with Luisa and 2 of her friends, that I can't say their names because... I don't know their names! I just know that they are from Colombia and one of them was... 33.
I played in the pool with Vinnie, Danny and Joey. It was really fun! We had balloons and we filled them with water. It was cool 8-) .
We ate hamburgers and hot-dogs, and after, we went to see the fireworks. We didn't see much. We just took a spot in a church parking lot and trees were in the way. Not cool. But we could see them anyway. We were on the top of the truck. :)

After, when we came home, we watched Family Guy... haha. This show doesn't make any sense. It's so funny. We have can watch it in Canada, but I never watched it.

That's it for the 4th of July.

Now, go to sleep. It's 2 in the morning for you!

EF San Diego School

I'm off to school.

Tonight: BBQ with the DeMaria family, the best family EVER!

See you soon!

Love
xoxo

Aéroport SAN: l'aventure

Trajet San Francisco - San Diego: 1h. Okay.

When Mary met the airport… alone.

“Sorry, sorry, scuse me, sorry, thank you”.

1er juillet, still Montreal

Love,
